ASTORG PARTNERS' background

From ASTORG Compagnie d'Investissements to ASTORG PARTNERS

ASTORG PARTNERS is an independent fund management company, wholly owned by its three founding partners, who together form the Investment Committee.

1983-1989

ASTORG Companie d'Investissements was created as a joint venture between SUEZ and state-owned Institut de Développement Industriel (IDI).

ASTORG’s mission was to execute development capital deals in small enterprises.

Listed on the French stock exchange, ASTORG became a portfolio management company with EUR180m of shareholders' funds under management and maintained its expansion capital investment strategy.

1990-1997

SUEZ acquired 100% of ASTORG and the company was delisted.

ASTORG's assignment was then to liquidate the existing portfolio while investing greater amounts in new private equity deals, with a closer, more hands-on approach.

ASTORG then began to structure majority and co-majority leveraged buyouts, with a clear commitment to bring in additional value through the active support - by means of strategic advice, financial structuring and staged additional capital infusions - to all internal and external growth initiatives.

In this way, ASTORG acquired and capitalized its LBU structuring skills.

1998

The ASTORG team organizes its spin-off from SUEZ, establishes ASTORG PARTNERS, and raises its first independent Fund Astorg II., a EUR185.000.000 buyout fund.

2004

Astorg Partners raises Astorg III, a EUR300.000.000 buyout fund.
